Lost in your Twentie’s

You finished university a year ago. And let’s face it, you’re still a bit lost. And by a bit, I mean, you’re in a gigantic black hole in a parallel universe with no sign of human existence kind of lost.

From education you have not learnt how to get a mortgage, do your taxes, deal with post uni life, or focus on your own path while the people around you are buying houses, having children or traveling the world. What do you want? Ask yourself now. What is it exactly that you want? Do you know? Have you even thought about this question in the last month? So you think you want to travel,  buy a house, a family, love your career?  What order do you want them ? Because let’s get real, you can’t have everything simultaneously. No one’s having their cake and eating it. You have high aspirations so you’ve got to work your ass off for them.

Your 20’s is the time that you have the most pressure placed upon you. Rather than all this pressure we should be encouraged to take risks. What have you got to lose? This is not a time to settle. It’s the time to set the standards for what is to come in 42A683C5-0E81-41A8-8C27-978DC815ACEAyour life. If you aren’t enjoying your job after 6 months, look for a new one. If you want to explore South America then book your flights, pack your bags and find a travel buddy. Stop coming up with excuses and start coming up with action plans on how you’re going to get there. Write it down. Your goals, your dreams, your fears and everything in between. Self reflection is the best form of self development. Whether it’s a goal in 10 years, 5 years, 1 year or 1 month. Write it down. Then work backwards and figure out how you’re going to get there. What is the you in 10 years doing that you’re not doing now? Why aren’t you doing it yet? You can’t be the person you want to be whilst remaining the person that you are. It’s time to bring your A game. Stop riding the wave. Leave your comfort zone because it’s time to grow.

It’s time to take risks. You’re not lost, you’re just starting out. Start having those tough conversations with yourself.

Be brave. Remain patient. Work hard. Keep persistent. Stay consistent. And just do it. It’s A game time.

Love J xoxo
