Dream Big and Build a Master Plan

What is YOUR goal in life?

We’re nearing the end of January so anyone that made New Year’s Resolutions (or my preferred method – ‘Goals for 2018’) How are you getting on so far? We’re 1/12 of the way in! BUT, do you ever think about life goals though?

Just for a moment. If you could do any one thing with your life what would it be? Every person’s life has purpose and meaning, we just have to figure out what both of those may be. My favourite quote is still that the “meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away….”

I think that I am still on the path to finding mine. I have a few ideas, they just need some planning and fine tuning. But nothing in our lives is ever perfect, things change because nothing is permanent. My dreams at the minute are VERY big and VERY scary. I’m currently making a plan of how to get there, and hence not sharing the details of them. Another reason being, anyone that I have mentioned it to has instinctively listed all the possibilities for failure, or negative things, which is not what I want to associate my plans with. (So from now on they are classified information!!) BUT, if my masterplan works I will combine everything that I love into my day to day life, which of course is always the ultimate dream!

Enough about me, back to you. What are YOUR dreams? Goals? Aspirations? Whether you are still in education, or past retirement it is NEVER too late to make a goal, or do something new! Thinking about it is halfway there! If you don’t even attempt it then your chance is literally 0. So what have you got to lose?

How do we reach these dreams?

PLANNING and PREPARATION. “Failure to prepare and you are preparing to fail.”

-Ok great so now you’ve got your big dream, what do you do with it? Well, we figure out how to get there. Work backwards and break it down into manageable steps; long-term, medium-term and short-term.

-Think about it like a marathon. If that is your long term goal, you don’t set out on your first day aiming to complete the entire thing do you? Baby steps. Forward is forward, so as long as everyday you are doing something, ANYTHING, to get a little bit closer to where you want to be, then this is positive. “The first step to getting somewhere is deciding that you are no longer going to stay where you are now.”

In the picture above I’ve got my daily planner aka life saver. (Not sponsored, but from the brand ‘Oh Deer’). With my big goals and dreams written at the front to remind me daily, it then has day to day pages to keep you on track. I have a habit of being a very ‘busy’ person, yet not a very productive person. I could have a to-do list of 10 things. and spend 90% of my day on the first thing, because I like to finish one thing before I move onto the next. This planner however, has a schedule for your day so you can limit a time frame to your tasks!

Also pictured at the top of this post is my new adventure box! (Also not sponsored, but courtesy of Bromley & Co. in Ipswich!). Currently being used as an alternative money box for my rather adventurous dreams! The back is removable so when I’ve finished I can then use it as memory box, or use it for my next adventure!

So what are you waiting for? Get started on those dreams!!!

All my inspirational and motivational love
